Model S Or 911? (Something We Didn’t Even Think Of!)

Model S Or 911?

If you are looking for the perfect car, the chances are that your research will lead you to companies such as Tesla and Porsche. Though the vehicles they manufacture are quite unique, you might see some similarities that make it tough for you to decide. So, which is better: the Tesla Model S or the Porsche 911?

The Tesla Model S is one of the most innovative vehicles on the market. Using the highest quality of technology available for vehicles, Tesla has managed to make the Model S one of the most trusted, most successful cars on the road.

Read on to learn more about the comparison between a Model S and a 911. A Porsche 911 is a fantastic car, but does it surpass the Model S in any category? Below, you will find out just how similar, or different a 911 is from a Model S.

Model S Or 911?

If you own either a Tesla Model S or a Porsche 911, the chances are that your comparison might be a little biased. Still, you probably have some reasonable support showing your top pick. When it comes to comparing a Model S with a 911, some people might not even think it practical to do so.

To be fully transparent, there is not a Porsche 911 model that completely takes the cake against a Tesla Model S. However, that does not mean a 911 is not a great car to have.

Tesla has done an excellent job in perfecting the production of their vehicles, and as perhaps the most advanced car manufacturer in the world, it would be difficult for any other car to beat a Tesla in every category.

Model S

Several car owners believe that the Tesla Model S is Tesla’s best car. With Tesla being seen as the best car manufacturer, it is fair to suggest that the Model S might just be the single best car in the world. Of course, this is entirely up for debate, and this article is only comparing a Model S and a 911. However, the idea is some food for thought.

The all-electric Model S is equipped with the technology necessary to get you wherever you need to go. With lithium-ion batteries that supply the Model S with up to 390 miles of range, you will not have to worry about finding a charging station every time you go for a ride.

The Model S has also received five stars in every crash rating available, making it one of the safest cars on the market. Also, with plenty of cargo space and room for four people, you can be sure that your family and friends will fit comfortably on long road trips.

The Pros

The biggest advantage that the Model S has over the 911 is that all Tesla vehicles are 100% electric. The amount of money you will save without having to fill up with gas is astronomical. While you do still have to pay for a charge if you use a public charging station, the prices are a fraction of the cost of gasoline.

Another obvious advantage of the Tesla Model S is its safety rating. Tesla’s Model S has received the highest safety rating out of every single car ever tested by the NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration). With results such as these, you will be as protected as possible when you are on the road.

When compared to Porche’s 911, it would be ignorant to refrain from discussing the price tags. The base model of the Tesla Model S is around $70,000. While this is a steep price, it is $30,000 cheaper than the base model of the Porsche 911. If you buy a Model S, you will be saving tens of thousands of dollars on a car that is – for the most part – better in every way.

The Tesla Model S is also an extremely strong, durable car, with a top speed of 200 miles per hour and 1,020 horsepower. It can reach a speed of 60 miles per hour in a mere 1.99 seconds. The performance abilities of the Model S are unmatched.

Cons

While the Tesla Model S is an exceptional car, it is not entirely flawless. However, it might be as close as you will get to it. Still, there are some downsides to consider if you choose a Model S.

The main setback for electric car owners is that there are significantly fewer public charging stations than there are gas stations. Though Tesla batteries provide hundreds of miles of range, you will have to keep track of charging stations near you and how much charge you have left in your vehicle.

One way that people avoid this problem is by installing a Tesla charging station at home. While this is incredibly convenient, the disadvantage is that it adds to the cost of your Model S.

However, instead of paying for a public charge every time your battery is low, the cost of charging at home will be added to your electric bill.

Another small con to the Model S is that if you are comparing it to a 911 from the perspective of a sportscar buyer, the Porsche 911 is much more sportscar-esque. That is, at least in the way it looks. The Model S has a sleek, beautiful design, but if you are looking for a car that fits aesthetically on a racetrack, the Model S may not be as great as a 911 in that respect.

911

The Porsche 911 is a wonderful car, even if it does not meet the standards of a Tesla Model S. When comparing the two, they may not be very similar, but the 911 has its fair share of notable qualities.

The Porsche 911 is one of the most impressive-looking sportscars on the market. With a modern design that combines current technology and years of character, the 911 does not fail to grab the attention of just about every person it drives past. Porsche takes pride in the 911’s existence as the most perfect sports car in the world.

The 911 has several features that make it such a great car. With an 8-speed, six-cylinder, twin-turbo engine, the Porsche 911 makes a name for itself as a racer. You can also add a sport exhaust system to your model to make it sound even more authentic.

Pros

There are a few advantages for the Porsche 911, though that does not necessarily mean they are advantages over the Model S itself. For one, a 911 can go 0 to 60 in 2.7 seconds. While this acceleration is not as fast as a Model S, it is still very impressive.

Another major pro to the 911 is its enhanced handling ability. Now, because Tesla models have their lithium-ion battery pack on the base of their frame, they have exceptional handling as well. However, the 911, created as a sportscar, can grab the road on turns with the most precise handling.

The 911 is also extremely aerodynamic, with a spoiler that aids in reducing wind resistance. All around, the Porsche 911 is a near-perfect sports car model, and you would definitely enjoy the investment.

Cons

The main disadvantage to consider with the Porsche 911 is that most people are not looking for a sports car or race car. Though it has excellent driving abilities, a similarly made car, such as the Model S, has more characteristics that would make your purchase worthwhile.

Compared to the immense amount of horsepower on the Model S, a Porsche 911 can have up to 640 horsepower. Yes, this is impressive, but it is just about half the horsepower of the Model S. Another obvious concern when comparing a 911 to a Model S is that with the Porsche model, you will have to spend much more money on gasoline.

Speaking of prices, the base model of a 911 Porsche is over $99,000. That is not including the option for additional features that can raise the price to over $200,000.

Takeaway

Both are great cars, but the Tesla Model S is better than the Porsche 911 in more ways than not. In fact, there is not much evidence that supports a 911 being better than a Model S in any way.

Unless you are basing your decision solely on how your car looks, choosing a Tesla Model S over a Porsche 911 is pretty much a no-brainer.
