Cybertruck Design Change for Mass Production Announced

Cybertruck Design Change for Mass Production Announced

The Tesla Cybertruck may just be one of the most highly anticipated vehicles to hit the market ever. However, the design has left many people scratching their heads. While the Cybertruck has yet to hit the mass production stage, early designs have been less than well-received.

Tesla has recently promised some substantial design changes that will take effect prior to production beginning. This should appeal to a broader audience, while still encompassing all of the features that the vehicle has long been touted to have.

The Cybertruck appears to still be a work in progress. While bits and pieces have been unveiled to the public along the way, the final design and functionality is yet to come. Continue reading to learn more about the Cybertruck and its proposed design changes.

It Is All About the Looks

When it comes to modern day vehicles, design does matter. While consumers want to take advantage of the latest in technology, they want to look great while doing so. That is why so many people seem to have been taken aback by the early design sketches of Tesla’s highly anticipated Cybertruck

Tesla claims to have listened to some of the early criticism. The result is a truck that will go to production looking better than the early prototypes that the public has reacted to. We still do not know exactly what the end result will look like, but some clarity has already been provided.

What Will it Look Like?

In typical Tesla fashion, the company is being a bit tight lipped about the actual end product that is about to go to production. We do not know, for example, that the wing mirrors that are absent in the prototype design have now made an appearance in the final schematics.

We do know more about the dimensions of the truck. The width of the pickup will be roughly 82 inches. We also know that every model of the Cybertruck will come with laser blade lights. This just adds to the excitement, and many people around the world are eagerly awaiting it starting production so they can know what it looks like.

Where Does the Original Cybertruck Design Come From?

When Tesla first unveiled images of the Cybertruck prototype, many people thought it looked like a computer generated image. It really does look like something that is more suited to outer space than the urban streets of America. The public has since had some time to digest the design. For its part, Tesla has been able to explain its design rationale as well.

When Tesla set out to develop a Cybertruck, it did so with the thought of creating an exoskeleton body. This design is meant to make the truck much more efficient, which is something that no pickups to date are known for. That first Prototype was a work in progress. Tesla has since evidently made some design changes that will soon become apparent.

The Latest Information

For its part, Tesla has always said that the Cybertruck is a first for the industry. As such, they are constantly refining its design. To that end, there is a lot to this vehicle that people are still not aware of. While the world will have to wait just a bit longer to know exactly what the Cybertruck has in store of us, bits and pieces are starting to come together.

There are a few design components of the production version of the Cybertruck that we now know will be changed from the original Prototype.

  • Size has been reduced – Since the Prototype was released, the overall size of the Cybertruck has been reduced by roughly 3 percent. This is significant because the concern was that the original design was going to be result in a truck that was too big to comfortably fit in the average garage.
  • The centerline is more level – This gives the truck a more aesthetically pleasing experience.
  • The height of the window sill has been lowered – The original Prototype made it appear that only the tallest of passengers was going to find it comfortable to prop up their elbow on the window. That has since been lowered to make it more appealing to a broader audience.

We also have more information about the various dimensions of the Cybertruck that is due to go to production at the end of 2021:

  • The length – It has been revealed that the first Tesla Cybertruck will be just over 231 inches long.
  • The width – The Cybertruck will be just under 80 inches wide.
  • The height – This particular truck will come in at a height of 75 inches.
  • Approach Angle – It will have an approach angle of 35 degrees.
  • Departure Angle – The Cybertruck will have a departure angle of 28 degrees.
  • Ground Clearance – It has also been revealed that the Tesla Cybertruck will have a ground clearance of an impressive 16 inches.

These design enhancements combine to highlight how eagerly the traveling public awaits the first electric truck ever to hit the market. Whether or not the design enhancements are enough to make it the bestseller that Tesla obviously anticipates remains to be seen.

Features of the Tesla Cybertruck

When it comes to the final design of the Tesla Cybertruck, most of us will just have to wait and see it when it comes off the production line. However, we have some upgraded information and details about certain parts of this electric truck that should ramp up the excitement level accordingly.

The Exoskeleton

This is the feature that gives the truck its unique look. The shell of the Tesla Cybertruck is specially designed to provide the ultimate in passenger protection. It is also extremely durable and built to withstand just about anything that the environment may throw at it.

The exoskeleton itself is virtually impenetrable. It is strong and designed for endurance. It also contains a tough stainless steel structure that has been cold-rolled thirty times. In addition to that, every Cybertruck is design with armor glass that has been specially developed and manufactured by Tesla.

The Stainless Steel Exterior

As mentioned, the exoskeleton is composed of an ultra-hard 30 times cold-rolled stainless steel shell. This will just about eliminate the possibility of the Cybertruck becoming dented. Imagine another car bumping into you in a parking lot and not even having a scratch to show for it. That is what you will likely get with the Cybertruck. It is also protected against corrosion.

Armored Glass to Protect You

Even the glass on the Tesla Cybertruck is a marvel in engineering. This glass is ultra-strong and is manufactured from a polymer-layered composite. This means that it will withstand quite a bit of force and never become damaged. Kiss those windshield chips and cracks goodbye.

This is a Versatile Vehicle

There is a lot that the design of the Cybertruck will allow you to do. It is an electric truck that will come with an impressive 3,500 pounds payload capacity. It also has an adjustable air suspension. The Cybertruck is built with an exterior that has 100 cubic feet of exterior space. It also comes with a lockable storage unit and cover that is so strong you can stand on it.

We also now know that the Tesla Cybertruck will have a towing capacity of more than 14,000 pounds. This creates quite a few possibilities. It is also powerful and has great range. You will be able to get up to 60 miles per hour in only 2.9 seconds. You can also expect to get 500 miles of range out of the truck under normal driving conditions.

Wrap-Up

The Tesla Cybertruck has undergone quite a few design changes since the Prototype was released to the public a few years ago. With mass production of this electric truck set to begin in a matter of months, it will be interesting to see just how the final product ends up looking.
